For those who have taken the Introduction to Tibetan Yoga, we will be starting a practice group on Thursday mornings at 8:30 am. We will gradually increase the number of repetitions together.
I look forward to any feedback you have on this exercise program. Have you kept it up? Any "de-tox" effects you are concerned about? |

What I like about the Tibetan Yoga is the integration of your thoughts and feelings with the five poses. It is a great way to "check in" with yourself each morning. Looking forward to increasing the reps to 7 this week! |

Remember, the main detox and purification comes after doing the yogas daily for over a month...in the 2nd and 3rd month. So keep at it. It takes a month for your neurological system to shift with it.
Please report any changes.

This are questions for Dekyi Lee about the Yoga practice. I thought I would ask them here in case others are having the same questions.
We are increasing the repetitions by 2 per week in the practice group. If there are certain poses that are more challenging, should we still increase the ones that are more manageable, or wait to increase them all at once? Or maybe do some that are modified to keep the repetitions equal?
Also, another question that came up in our practice group was about toe positions...should the toes be extended or tucked under for the 2nd pose? Same question for the breathing out position on the 5th pose. |

Re: toes: On both postures the toes are tucked under, not flattened out.
Increase repetitions by two each week, maximum 21 (except prostrations can be any number). If one is more challenging, keep the number the same until it can go up or just go up one. The critical thing is not forcing...the difference between allowing yourself to do it, versus making yourself do it.
Be kind. |

The practice group is now up to 13 repetitions. Reports of bouts of crying, feelings of disconnection, and sore wrists are cropping up, but nothing too serious! Any other detox or deconditioning problems out there? |

I have had a question about good written references for the Tibetan Yoga, in particular the chakras. I have passed this on to Dekyi Lee and will post her reply.
The practice group is now up to 17 repetitions, and going stong, if slightly dizzy. The sore wrists come and go. |

The Tibetan Yoga practice group is now up to the full 21 repetitions- well, one of us is up to that anyway!
The Yogas work on 5 levels: the physical, the breath, the channels, our thoughts and the seeds that we plant with right action. Dekyi Lee will be back in November to help us deepen our practice. |

We are hoping that the Teacher Training is going to happen here in Kenora in April, so that we can start some regular classes! the 5 Tibetan Yogas are a great way to get physical, mental and emotional balance. Dekyi Lee has recieved an authentic transmission from a Lama, which means it is a deeper practice than you would get learning the exercises from the internet, or a book. I hope the course comes together! |

Hello, do the 5 yogas relate to the 5 yogas of Naropa. That is, are they the same as the asana excercise part of the Naropa system? Thanks, any help really appreciated L&P Michael |
